The River Song by David Hummingbird Walton
Singer/songwriter David “Hummingbird” Walton is truly a wandering minstrel. For more than 40 years he has travelled around North America and Hawaii writing songs, working part-time jobs, and playing music all along the way.
Born and raised in Sheffield, Alabama, David grew up playing in the forests along the banks of the Tennessee River. This gave him a lifelong love and appreciation of the natural world and the spiritual source of creation. The poetry of nature is an ongoing theme woven through his songs about peace, love, and understanding for all people and the Earth.
Influenced by many styles of music, David’s songs vary greatly. From the meditative solo bamboo flute of his 2003 recording “Beauty of the Earth” to the guitar vocal driven songs of his new release “We’re All in this Together”, this is definitely music from the heart. These recordings are available at your favorite download site.
After many years living in Oregon, Hawaii and other places, David is currently living back in his hometown by the river. The Native Americans called it “The Singing River” and it’s the home of a very rich musical heritage known as "Muscle Shoals Music".
So if you long for a more peaceful and harmonious world and would like to hear something unique and refreshing, be sure to let the music of Hummingbird fly into your life.
